• 3 nights of accommodation in our forest guesthouse (additional nights can be booked)

  • What the neighboring Csango woman brings to the house, but you can also enjoy it in her kitchen. The milk she milks in the morning, the cheese, curd, and eggs she takes from under the chicken, the bread she bakes in her oven, the jam and syrup for which she picked the fruits in the mountains, forest mushrooms and mountain honey, and the tea for which she picked the herbs. (Full board is possible)
• 1 full-day off-road tour in the mountains (not off-road, but a scenic car ride)

Detailed itinerary:

• Day 1:
  • Travel
  • Check-in at our mountain forest guesthouse.
  • Recommended program on the way:
    • Transfagarasan: Bâlea Lake – Bâlea Waterfall – at an altitude of 2080 meters. The most beautiful high-mountain road in the world that can be traveled by car. In winter, the road is closed due to heavy snow until the snow melts, and you can take a cable car to the mountain ridge.
• Day 2:
  • Full-day off-road tour in the mountains. (The exact location and time of departure should be arranged by phone the day before.)
    • A 100-year time travel. This is not an off-road tour, but a scenic car ride on old cart roads. We stop at every beautiful viewpoint. We pick blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, and blackberries along the way.
  • Visit to Esztena
    • According to tradition, shepherds graze their sheep in the mountains from Saint George's Day to Saint Michael's Day – here they milk the cows, make cheese, orda, and zsendice from fresh milk, which you can taste with some homemade bread and bacon.
  • Cheese tasting
    • Sheep cheese, curd, orda, and zsendice served with homemade bacon and bread.
  • Visit to the village of Csinód
    • Csinód – a small mountain village in the Úz Valley where people still live a self-sustaining life.
  • Lunch with a local Csango family
    • We sit down in the family's kitchen – the hostess serves a 3-course lunch with coffee and homemade brandy (Unlimited servings).
• Day 3:
  • Local natural attractions with your own vehicle:
    • Saint Anne Lake, Mohos Peat Bog, Torja Stinky Cave, Apor Girls' Bath...
  • Leave your car in the guarded parking lot at Lake Saint Anne and walk about 1 km on a forest road to the lake – they sell the finest chimney cakes in Transylvania here – don't miss them! In the summer, you can also go boating on the lake.
    • Plan to spend about 2.5 – 3 hours at the lake.

  • Depending on the season, there are guided tours every hour or every two hours in the Mohos Peat Bog – an interesting program for both children and adults.
    • You can find it opposite the Lake Saint Anne parking lot.
    • The duration of the program is 1 hour.
  • The Torja Stinky Cave is Europe's largest gas-emitting mofetta with beautiful hiking trails. The round-trip hike takes about 1.5 hours at a comfortable pace.
    • The trail to the Torja Stinky Cave starts from the Gastrolab restaurant.
  • Apor Girls' Bath – located between the Grand Hotel and Bálványosfürdő. Here, numerous springs with different healing properties emerge, a true rarity.
  • Option:
    • Lunch at the Gastrolab restaurant – you can find it next to the parking lot for the Büdös Cave – the restaurant belongs to the Grand Hotel Bálványos.

  • Bear watching: 5:30 PM – 7:30 PM (the time should be arranged the day before!)
