After breakfast, we head into the mountains for a day of off-roading, which is more of a scenic drive rather than an extreme off-road adventure. Guests will have a vehicle for the entire day with a driver who will also serve as your guide. We leave the asphalt roads, mobile network coverage, and throughout the day, we'll only encounter grazing shepherds in the remote areas, whom we'll visit at an 'esztana.'

The esztana is where shepherds and their herds spend their summers, from Saint George's Day to Saint Michael's Day. You can explore the small wooden huts where they sleep, witness milking, cheese making, and get a glimpse into this seemingly timeless world. You'll have the opportunity to taste cheese, 'orda,' and 'zsendica,' all made from freshly milked cows, accompanied by local bacon and homemade bread, toasted over the traditional hearth.

If you choose the esztana visit as part of your tour, you can opt for a 'gastronomy package' in addition to the off-roading tour.

During our tour, we'll make stops at beautiful locations where you can enjoy breathtaking views. We'll also identify the best spots for picking wild blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries, depending on the season.

We'll journey to a secluded Csángó village in the valley of the Úz River, where you'll gain insight into the lives of mountain people. We'll explore a unique log chapel near the village. We refer to this excursion as a "100-year time travel." The asphalt road reached Csinód in December 2022, and electricity was introduced a few years ago. The village doesn't have traditional streets; houses are scattered among irregularly large plots of land along cart tracks beside streams. Hungarian standards would describe it more as a 'tanya' (homestead) than a village. Here, people typically live in a self-sustained manner.

You'll have the option to dine in a Csángó family's kitchen and enjoy a three-course, unlimited-servings meal of delicious Szekler dishes. The hostess will serve homemade pálinka (fruit brandy), and you'll receive coffee with dessert.

For those who enjoy pálinka, there will be opportunities for unlimited consumption during the tour. You can savor a delightful local blueberry pálinka for the ladies and a strong plum pálinka for the gentlemen.

You can choose from several different tour routes, each offering a unique experience. Some routes take you through fields bursting with flowers in a thousand colors, others require you to cross streams in your off-road vehicle, and some lead through the Gyimes region to reach a bobsled track or a mountain trout farm where you can catch your own fish from the pond, and the host will cook it fresh. We can also show you villages deep in the mountains where there are no paved roads, and electricity has never reached.
